Woman charged in baby's death offered plea deal

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A woman charged with murdering her child has been offered a plea deal.
Sosefina Amoa, a 26-year-old nun in training, is accused of suffocating her little boy, called Baby Joseph, just minutes after he was born, WUSA9 previously reported.
Amoa's attorney asked a D.C. Superior Court judge for time to ponder the deal, and the hearing has been continued until Nov. 21.
The defense also requested Amoa be released, a motion the judge declined. Amoa is currently being held without bond.
