Tyson's Corner, VA.  The Redskins have suffered four straight losses this season but you would not have been able to tell by the positivity and excitement in the room on Tuesday afternoon at the "Salute To Our Hero's Luncheon" benefitting the Fisher House at the Westin Hotel in Tyson's Corner.  The luncheon included a silent auction and appearnces by present and former Redskins players along with host Rick "Doc" Walker, former Redskin and ESPN 980 analyst all honoring US Armed Forces Soldiers from the Pentagon and Walter Reed Hospital.

The Fisher House is located within walking distance of the Walter Reed hospital and is a comfortable temporary home, filled with warm, caring people who help family members endure the stresses associated with a loved one's serious medical condition. The Fisher House enables families to stay together, cook meals, do laundry, and relax in a "home away from home" atmosphere. There are no other facilities on military installations which provide this caring, compassionate environment. Families do not pay to stay at a Fisher House. Fees at Army, Navy, and Air Force Fisher Houses are underwritten by Fisher House Foundation and charitable donations from organizations.

Event guests received inside information on game strategies and a "locker room" perspective as well as photographs and autographs from the Redskins players.  Most notable guests included former players Brigg Owens, Ron Saul, Brian Mitchell, James Thrash, Don Warren, Pat Fisher and current Redskins Kedric Golston, Ryan Kerrigan, Byron Westbook, Trent Williams, Fred Davis, Sean Locklear and Chris Neild.

When a rookie was asked what was next for the Redskins, he wittily replied "Winning the next game against Miami!".  The room exploded in cheers and laughter.  With that being said, that is one thing you cannot take away from true Redskins fans or their players:  their spirit on and off the field.
