Winners Of The National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest

This story comes to us from Christina Miller:

FotoDC and the National Cherry Blossom Festival announced the winners of the National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest on Wednesday. The contest, which drew over 2,200 submissions from 696 local photographers, provided rich competition for the judges in three categories: landscape, people, and festivities.

“The photographers and the images are what make this contest extremely special,” said Theo Adamstein, FotoDC Founder. “We are extremely proud of these winners, and all of the participants that made this competition possible including our esteemed judges, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and FLASH.”

“The inaugural contest produced wonderful results,” said Diana Mayhew, National Cherry Blossom Festival President. “The Festival looks forward to continuing the contest and partnership with FotoDC, especially for next year’s Centennial Celebration in honor of the 100-year anniversary of the gift of cherry blossom trees.”

The winning entries can be viewed on both FotoWeekDC.org and nationalcherryblossomfestival.org. Winners of the 2011 National Cherry Blossom Photo Contest are:
