Get a role in a local film!

When I returned to the D.C. area following film school, I auditioned for a number of film projects in order to work on my acting chops and get connected to local filmmakers. One of my first roles was in “The Carry-Out,” which told the story of a restaurant robbery that goes terribly wrong. The writer and director of that film was Alexandria native Chris Kiros.

In addition to “The Carry-Out,” Chris has directed and/or produced seven other short films and two features: the award-winning horror films Deadlands 2: Trapped and ZOMBthology. Chris is now switching gears from horror and working on a feature length comedy-drama entitled Tenets of the Maladjusted.

Tenets follows three friends as they take a pleasure seeking week-long trip to the beach. In the midst of the boozing, womanizing, and other less legal forms of indulgence, one member of the trio finds himself doing more self-examination than he signed on for. Chris describes the film as “Swingers meets Bottle Rocket with a touch of Kevin Smith style humor.”

Now, here's you're chance to be a part of Tenets of the Maladjusted: Auditions will be held Tuesday May 10th for the three male leads and three female leads in addition to a host of supporting roles. To schedule an audition time, send your headshot and resume to tenetscasting@gmail.com. Don't fret if you don't have a headshot and resume. It's not difficult to put them together. Check this link out for information on how to do it.
