Office of Planning Meets to Discuss D.C.'s Comprehensive Plan, Talks Brookland Area

The Brookland neighborhood was discussed by the D.C. Office of Planning when they met to consider amendments to the city's "Comprehensive Plan".

The "Comprehensive Plan" documents the future of D.C., and focuses on all parts of city life---from housing to transportation.

One amendment up for consideration centers around the Brookland Metro stop:

"Improve pedestrian safety and access to the Brookland/CUA Metro Station by linking west and east Brookland along Monroe and Michigan Avenue and particularly by encouraging access between the 12th Street Main Street Retail Core and the surrounding neighborhoods by promoting active and well designed streetscapes along the named cross streets east of the Metro Station Area."

How do you feel about this potential change?  And do you have any other suggestions for improved life in the Brookland community?
